New Delhi. India batsman Shubman Gill met Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan in the UK and he was so thrilled to see his Gujarat Titans (GT) teammate, he shared a heart-touching post on social media.
The Afghan sensation posed for a picture with Gill, who was recently named the new captain of Gujarat Titans for IPL 2024 after Hardik Pandya’s surprise comeback to Mumbai Indians. While sharing the picture on social media, Rashid wrote, ‘Thank you Captain Sahab for stopping me.’
Rashid’s post received enthusiastic reactions from both Michael Vaughan and the Titans and both the legends were happy to see the meeting.
“I love it,” said the former England captain. The Titans, on the other hand, wrote “Nazar Na Laage”, hoping that there would be no evil eye on their stars.
Rashid underwent a minor lower back surgery in the United Kingdom on 24 November. The Afghanistan cricket sensation has also pulled out of the upcoming Big Bash League season 13 due to a back injury, which required a minor surgery.
He played a key role in the Afghanistan cricket team and contributed significantly to their success in the 2023 ODI World Cup. His performance in matches against strong teams like England and Pakistan was remarkable.
Gill, who was last seen in action during the ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia in Ahmedabad, is preparing for the upcoming matches in South Africa. He is set to feature in the three-match T20 series and two Test matches in the coming days.
