Career of 4 star players in danger! Many franchisees were fed up with the antics in IPL, BCCI angry

The non-selection of Sarfaraz Khan saw fierce debate in the media. Most believed that Sarfaraz should have been selected. It was reported that some players have not been selected for the West Indies tour due to indiscipline during the IPL 2023 season. According to our associate cricket website Cricbuzz, according to reliable sources, at least four players from the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams of the North have been reported to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Apart from the IPL, these players represent the West and North Zones in the domestic circuit.
Team owner complains to BCCI
Worth mentioning here is that Sarfaraz Khan, who is a prolific scorer in domestic cricket for Mumbai with an average of over 79 in first-class cricket, plays for Delhi Capitals (one of the northern teams) in the IPL. The Cricbuzz report states that the owner of an IPL franchise in the North, in his complaint, said that some players were constantly breaking the code. As a result, he was forced to report the matter to the BCCI.
BCCI official monitors every team
BCCI’s Integrity Officers assigned to the franchises report to the BCCI on the conduct of the Indian players after every game. In the case of this particular franchise, both the players (who are young and have scored high in domestic cricket) had to report to the BCCI. A team owner told Cricbuzz – When I came to know about the situation, I was very upset and immediately informed the matter to the BCCI. The Integrity Officer also took the breach very seriously and fulfilled his responsibilities.
T20 team may be revealed at the time of announcement
A former anti-corruption official has confirmed that the Integrity Officer reports to the BCCI after every match on the conduct of Indian players. The breaches mainly involved disciplinary issues and code of conduct breaches, rather than those relating to corruption. The BCCI is yet to announce the squad for the five-match T20I series against the West Indies next month. The selection of that team will give some more insight into the action taken by the BCCI on the indiscipline of these players. As per reports, it is worth noting here that some of the players reported to BCCI are either part of India’s T20 squad or contenders for selection.
