Guwahati: Chennaiyin FC continued their dominance in the Durand Cup 2023 to storm into the quarter-finals with a thumping 3-0 win against Tribhuvan Army at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here on Monday. The first goal was scored by Farukh Chowdhary in the 22nd minute with the help of a precise pass from Connor Shields. Rahim Ali then doubled Chennaiyin’s lead from the penalty spot in the 39th minute, while Rafael Crivellaro sealed Chennaiyin’s victory in the 83rd minute.
On the other hand, Tribhuvan Sena from Nepal was under constant pressure in the face of Chennaiyin’s aggressive approach and made unforced errors on several occasions.
