Praggnananda becomes world champion by defeating Ding Liren
After registering the victory, Praggnananda became India’s new number one chess player by surpassing Vishwanathan Anand in the live chess ratings. His rating of 2748.3 is slightly higher than Anand’s 2748. Notably, the win marked Praggnananda’s second consecutive victory over Ding Liren at the same event, with Ding being the world number two in the previous encounter.
