Beijing, April 6 (Hindustan Reporter) Chinese artistic swimmers won three out of four gold medals on the first day of the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup 2024 at the National Aquatic Center here on Friday.
In the women’s singles technical, China’s Xu Huiyan won with 244.9183 points, while neutral international athletes Vasilina Khandoshka and Aruba’s Kyra Howertz finished second and third respectively. Xu and his teammates also won the team technical title, finishing 21.1569 points ahead of runner-up Australia. Kazakhstan got the bronze medal of the event.
In the mixed doubles technical event, Chinese youth pair Ji Heyu and Guo Muye won the gold medal, while Kazakhstan and Spain won silver and bronze respectively. Spain’s Jordi Caceres Iglesias won the men’s singles technical title with a score of 190.8916 points. China’s Guo won the silver medal, followed by Italy’s Filippo Pelati in third place.
Nearly 100 elite artistic swimmers from 14 teams from around the world are competing at the three-day World Cup in Beijing. China will compete in all 11 events, with its top swimmers focusing on the team free and its second-tier athletes competing in the other 10 events.
