Committed to provide world class coaching to players: Sinha

Jammu (Best Hindu News): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated the government’s commitment to provide modern facilities and world-class coaching to sportspersons.

Congratulating the players and the winning team on the concluding day of LG Rolling Trophy, Sinha said that Rolling Trophy is an important initiative of Mission Youth aimed at strengthening the roots of sports culture. The tournament enabled our players to showcase excellence on the field and fostered pride, camaraderie and sportsmanship.

The players have inspired the younger generation with their skill and endurance on the field of play, renewed the essential spirit of the game and made this tournament truly memorable.

He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have created new infrastructure for sportspersons in far-flung areas. It is being ensured that youth living in villages get modern facilities and mentorship. The key to a vibrant sporting culture lies in an effective combination of talent hunt, mentoring and an appropriate platform. Not only do we want to feed our sporting culture with a steady stream of young talent, but we also want to develop sporting excellence and prowess in our youth.

The Lt Governor said that this year 104 projects under JKIDFC and 117 projects under CAPEX have been completed in the entire Union Territory. In the last one year, more than 60 lakh children and youth participated in sports activities. The Lt Governor said that in several disciplines like gymnastics, judo, football, cricket, we have set up academies to identify and nurture talent.
