Congress Party has announced its candidates for 3 Lok Sabha seats of West Bengal. All India Congress Committee General Secretary KC Venugopal announced these 3 candidates on Sunday (April 7). Along with this, the candidate for the by-election to be held on Bhagwangola assembly seat has also been announced.
Central Election Committee approved the names of Congress candidates
The Central Election Committee of Congress has approved the names of candidates for Bongaon, Uluberia and Ghatal Lok Sabha seats. After this their names were announced. The names of the declared candidates are Pradeep Biswas, Azhar Mallik and Dr. Papiya Chakraborty.
Pradeep Vishwas will contest from Bangaon, Azhar Mallik from Ulubediya.
Congress party has said that Pradeep Biswas will contest from Bongaon Lok Sabha seat reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC). Congress has made Azhar Mallik its candidate from Uluberia Lok Sabha seat. Whereas, Dr. Papiya Chakraborty will be the party’s candidate from Ghatal.
Congress’s Anju Begum will contest Bhagwangola assembly by-election.
On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also approved the name of the party’s candidate for the by-election being held on Bhagwangola assembly seat of West Bengal. Congress party has declared Anju Begum as its candidate from Bhagwangola assembly seat.

By-elections will be held on 25 assembly seats of the country including Bhagwangola.
Let us tell you that by-elections are to be held on a total of 25 assembly seats in the country including Bhagwangola and Badanagar assembly of West Bengal. Voting for Lok Sabha is starting from 19th April. Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in West Bengal in all 7 phases.
