New Delhi: The Indian team had lost to Australia by 209 runs in the ICC WTC final on 11th June just a few days back. They were given a target of 444 runs in the fourth innings, while a team full of dashing batsmen were bundled out for 234 runs. Big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane failed miserably, then in the same England a team created history by achieving a target of 51 runs. This match was played between Surrey and Kent. This is the biggest target chased in the last 98 years.

In this match played under County Championship Division-1, Kent had given Surrey a target of 501 runs in the fourth innings. 3 Surrey players scored centuries while batting brilliantly and did what Team India could not do. This was the second highest run chase in county history, while the overall was the 8th best in first class. But from here Dom Sibley (140 not out), Tom Latham (58), Jamie Smith (114), Ben Foakes (124) and Jordan Clarke (26 not out) did what no one expected. Surrey won the match by 5 wickets.

Second best run chase in county history
This is the second best run chase in county cricket history. The county record is held by Cambridge University, who beat the MCC by 3 wickets chasing a target of 507 at Lord’s.
