India defeated New Zealand in the first semi-final on 15 November at Eden Gardens, Mumbai. Mohammed Shami was the hero of the match. He took seven wickets in his name. Virat Kohli scored his 50th ODI century in this match.
After taking seven wickets in the semi-finals, Mohammed Shami has become the bowler taking the most wickets in the tournament. He is ahead of Adam Zampa of Australia. There will be a competition between these two for the Golden Ball.
