Now Warner has also made a big disclosure about his retirement from Test cricket. Struggling with Test form, the 36-year-old Warner is expected to end his Test career after the Sydney Test against Pakistan. At the end of the year, Pakistan will go on a tour of Australia. The last match of the series will be played in Sydney from January 3.

It is not yet sure whether he will be a part of the team by that time. With this, Warner hopes that his last match in Australia’s jersey will be in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which is to be played in West Indies and USA. Along with this, after the ODI World Cup to be held in India this year, he can say goodbye to this format.

David Warner said, ‘I have always said that the World Cup will probably be my last match. Even if I can score runs here and continue playing back in Australia, I will not play the West Indies series. If I score runs now and reach the Pakistan series, I will finish it there. West Indies have to come to Australia after Pakistan tour.

Made international debut in 2009

David Warner made his debut for Australia in 2009. In his very first match, he hit a stormy 89 off 43 balls. He is the first player in Australian cricket history, who got a chance to play international match before first class debut. So far he has played 102 Tests, 142 ODIs and 99 T20 matches. He has 8158 runs in Tests, 6030 runs in ODIs and 2894 runs in T20s. He also has 45 international centuries to his name.
