Davis Cup. India announced the team for the match against Pakistan

New Delhi. India on Saturday named a six-member squad for the Davis Cup World Group One play-off match against Pakistan to be held in Islamabad on February 3 and 4. Ramkumar Ramanathan, N Sriram Balaji, Yuki Bhambri, Niki Kalianda Poonacha, Saketh Myneni and Digvijay Pratap Singh have been included in the team. Digvijay Pratap Singh is a reserve player. Ramanathan and Poonacha can play the singles match while any two among Yuki, Balaji and Myneni can be selected for the doubles match. Rohit Rajpal will be the non-playing captain of the team while Zeeshan Ali will play the role of coach.
All India Tennis Association (AITA) said in the release that the selection committee meeting was chaired by Nandan Bal and other committee members Balram Singh, Mustafa Ghosh, Sai Jayalakshmi, Rajpal, Zeeshan and secretary Anil Dhupar were also present in it. India last visited Pakistan in 1964 and won 4-0. India has never lost to Pakistan till now. They have won all eight matches against Pakistan. The last match between India and Pakistan was played at a neutral venue in 2019. India had won this match also by 4-0.
