Delhi Police files 1000-page charge sheet against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, hearing to be held on July 1

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh Chargesheet: In the case of alleged sexual harassment of women wrestlers, the Delhi Police on Thursday (June 15) filed a charge sheet of more than 1000 pages against the outgoing President of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the Rouse Avenue Court. The charge sheet has been filed in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. Now there will be a hearing on July 1 in the case of sexual abuse on Brij Bhushan. Let us tell you that two FIRs have been registered against Brij Bhushan. One of these is registered under the POCSO Act.
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had given assurance
The wrestlers had met Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on June 7, who reportedly assured them of a speedy police investigation into the matter. The Union Minister had set a deadline of June 15 to complete the probe. However, the wrestlers are also demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan. Now it will be a matter to be seen whether Brij Bhushan is arrested or not.
The incident took place in the WFI office
Let us tell you that on April 21, two adult female wrestlers lodged a formal complaint against Brij Bhushan Singh at Connaught Place Police Station in New Delhi alleging several incidents of sexual harassment and misconduct. The women wrestlers had alleged that these incidents happened inside the tournament, warm-up and the WFI office in New Delhi. These include activities such as molestation, inappropriate touching and inappropriate physical contact.
Police presented statement of 200 people
According to sources, during its investigation, the Delhi Police interrogated about 200 people and recorded their statements. These included wrestlers, referees, sports assistants, BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s domestic staff, associates and others. Now all those statements have been stapled and the police has now submitted them in the court through the charge sheet. The police team went to Brijbhushan’s residence in Gonda and recorded the statements of the people working there. Now on this charge sheet of Delhi Police, along with the protesting wrestlers, everyone’s eyes are attached.
