Delhi Women’s Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal again met wrestlers at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal reached Jantar Mantar on Thursday morning to once again meet the protesting wrestlers. According to Maliwal, wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik told them that they were being harassed and harassed by police officers who were in an inebriated condition and manhandling them. Maliwal expressed concern for the safety of the wrestlers and questioned why the Delhi Police was protecting Brij Bhushan and not arresting him.

Maliwal posted a video on Twitter claiming that the police did not allow him to meet the wrestlers. However, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Pranav Tayal said the DCW chief was stopped at the barricade by an officer but then allowed immediately.
The DCP said that he is currently at the protest site. There is no restriction on individual entry to Jantar Mantar. When Maliwal reached Jantar Mantar last night after the alleged scuffle, she was forcefully removed from the protest site by the Delhi Police.
