Karnataka left-hander Devdutt Padikkal scored 151 runs in 218 balls in the Elite Group C Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu in Chennai in front of selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar. The former India fast bowler was present in the stands and was taking note of Padikkal’s exploits against an attack comprising Sandeep Warrier, Sai Kishore and Vijay Shankar. Padikkal is in tremendous form this Ranji Trophy season. This left-handed batsman has scored three centuries in four matches. He has scored 556 runs at an excellent average of 92.66. Meanwhile, playing for India A, he recorded scores of 105, 65 and 21 in three innings of the two Test matches against England Lions. But his innings of 151 runs against Agarkar in Ranji did the job.
