DGC open from Wednesday

New Delhi (The Hindu News): Delhi Golf Club, known as the home of Indian golf, will host the second edition of the DGC Open presented by Mastercard from Wednesday.
138 players from 35 countries, including 50 Indians, are participating in this event with a prize money of about 61.8 million (US $ 7.5 million).
Indian golfer Shiv Kapur said, “The DGC is home to me in more ways than one. My parents used to drop me here and I used to spend a lot of time here playing and having fun with my friends. I have gained experience playing here over the years. I’m a ‘senior’ player in the circuit now, so there’s a lot to learn from playing alongside youngsters as we constantly have to find ways to keep up with them. I congratulate Mastercard for associating with this unique, club-owned event on the Asian Tour and truly taking it to another level.”
Shiva said that there are many Indians who can win any given week and this could be one such week.
KK Bajoria, President, Delhi Golf Club, said, “The DGC extends a warm welcome to all the golfers who have come to participate in the second edition of the DGC Open. The feedback we have received from players is that the course is in excellent condition. We have an excellent field this week with 40 of the top 60 pros on the Asian Tour, so we can certainly expect a high standard of golf.”
