Dhruv Jurel hopes to meet MS Dhoni during Ranchi Test

Ranchi (Uttam Hindu News): Wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel is hopeful that he will get a chance to meet MS Dhoni in the fourth Test between India and England starting on February 23 at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.

Team India has once again reached MS Dhoni’s city. This time he will face England.

The fourth match of the Test series being played between India and England is to be played in Ranchi from Thursday.

India is currently leading England 2-1 in the five-match Test series. For India, young wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel made his Test debut in the Rajkot Test, where India won by 434 runs.

Jurrell ran-out Ben Duckett in England’s second innings in the Rajkot Test. This run-out was not easy. Not only this, he also played a good innings with the bat which showed that he is adept at both the skills in the longer format.

In a video posted by BCCI on ‘X’, Dhruv Jurel said, “My dream is to meet Mahi Bhai. Whenever I have spoken to him, I have always learned something new from him and it has been very helpful in my career. So, hopefully I will get a chance to meet him during the fourth Test in Ranchi, that too when I will be in the Indian jersey.”

In December 2022, Rishabh Pant became a victim of a car accident, after which he is out of the team.

India replaced wicketkeeper-batsman K.S. Bharat, Ishan Kishan and K.L. Rahul was tried, but none of them fit the role.

Dhruv Jurel’s good performance on Test debut earned him praise for his glovework and batting. He also recalled his first meeting with Dhoni in IPL 2023, which was also his first season with Rajasthan Royals.
