Chahal is the second Indian international to play for Kent this season. Earlier, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh played for the club in the County Championship competition in June and July, taking 13 wickets in eight innings. Chahal, who are ninth in the Division One table, said in a statement issued by the club. Said, “Playing in English county cricket is an exciting challenge for me and I am very much looking forward to it.” Chahal has taken 87 wickets in 33 first-class matches. But, he has never played Test cricket for India. He took 121 wickets in 72 ODIs at an average of 27.13. Whereas, has also taken 96 wickets in 80 T20s with an economy rate of 8.19.
Chahal played two matches for Haryana in the last season of the Ranji Trophy, taking three wickets at an average of 92.33.
