Dinesh Karthik appointed batting consultant of England Lions for India A tour

Ahmedabad (Uttam Hindu News): Indian wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has been appointed batting consultant to England Lions, who will play three four-day matches followed by a two-day practice match against India A from January 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium here. The England Lions are set to embark on a month-long tour of India to run parallel to England men’s five-match Test series against India in early 2024. The Lions will play a two-day warm-up match against India A, followed by three four-day matches against them, held in Ahmedabad.

The groups will remain in place from January 12 to February 4, coinciding with the first Test in Hyderabad (starting January 25) and the first half of the second Test in Visakhapatnam (February 2). Leading the charge as head coach will be England men’s elite pace bowling coach, Neil Killeen, who demonstrated his leadership skills during the Lions’ tour of Sri Lanka last year. The coaching lineup for the Lions features an impressive range of cricket expertise. People with deep understanding of Indian conditions are joining Killen in this coaching campaign.

Notable additions include India’s experienced international wicketkeeper-batsman, Dinesh Karthik, who will share his insights with the team for nine days at the start of the tour.
