New Delhi . Indian wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has criticized Tamil Nadu coach Sulakshan Kulkarni for blaming captain R Sai Kishore for their loss to Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy semi-final.

Mumbai’s Sulakshan Kulkarni, who has taken over the coaching duties of Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2023-24 domestic season, regretted the captain’s decision to bat first after winning the toss in the Ranji Trophy semi-final against Mumbai.

Not only this, the coach also said that we had lost the match at 9 o’clock on the first day itself.

Kulkarni had said after the defeat, “We should have bowled but the captain’s strategy was different. After all, he is the boss.”

Karthik, who appeared shocked by Kulkarni’s comment, expressed his disappointment through a social media post. He defended Kishore as captain and said he was disappointed by the coach’s lack of support.

Karthik said, “This is very wrong. It is very disappointing from the coach’s side… Instead of supporting the captain who brought the team to the semi-finals after 7 years and thinking about the beginning of good things, the coach has criticized the captain and the entire team. The team has been put in danger.

Mumbai reached the Ranji Trophy final for the 48th time after defeating Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs inside three days in the second semi-final of the 2023/24 season on Monday.
