Disabled cricketers will show their skills in DPL like IPL

Bhopal (Uttam Hindu News): IPL is the most attractive cricket tournament for cricket fans. On the same lines, a three-day Divyang Premier League (DPL) for disabled cricketers is going to be organized in Maihar in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh.
The skills of national and international players will be seen in this. The four major teams in the DPL tournament, to be held from January 8 to 10 at Ustad Alauddin Stadium in Maihar, Satna, are Indore, Bhopal, Rewa and Gwalior.
Famous disabled cricket players from India and abroad are also among the teams participating in this joint event of Disabled Cricket Association, Madhya Pradesh and Madhurima Seva Sanskar Sansthan. Prominent players among them are Chirag Gandhi, Kailash Prasad, Brijesh Dwivedi, Suraj Mankele, J.P. Singh, Raju Karmakar, Makhan Singh Rajput, Ankit Singh Baghel, Rambaran Yadav, Nikhil Mewada, Syed Shah Aziz and Niaz Khan.
Dr. Swapna Verma, a participant in this event and head of Madhurima Seva Sanskar Foundation, says that disabled people are those people who may have some physical deficiency but they have been given extra strength by God. DPL tournament is being organized with the aim of awakening this feeling in every disabled person. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also called for the use of ‘Divyang’ instead of ‘Disabled’ and said, ‘Through our eyes we may think that he is disabled, but from experience we feel that he has extra strength.
Apart from the winners and runners-up, cash prizes will be given to all the teams participating in this tournament. Apart from the players, a reward scheme has also been decided for the spectators.
