Don’t succumb to external pressure, Afghanistan condemns CA for postponing the series – Dainik Savera Times

Kabul: The Afghanistan Cricket Board has urged Cricket Australia not to succumb to pressure from their government after the postponement of the bilateral T20 series. Cricket Australia on Tuesday postponed the home T20 series against Afghanistan, scheduled for August this year. He took this decision citing the worsening conditions of women and girls in Afghanistan.

Condemning CA’s move in a strongly worded letter, the ACB said, “The Afghanistan Cricket Board is disappointed with Cricket Australia’s decision to postpone yet another bilateral series.” We advocate keeping cricket away from political influence. Cricket has a lot of influence in Afghanistan and it gives happiness to the people. Earlier, Cricket Australia had also canceled the one-off Test against Afghanistan in Hobart in November 2021.

After which the three-match ODI series in UAE was also postponed. The Afghanistan Board believes that CA is working on the instructions of the Australian Government. “ACB urges Cricket Australia to understand and respect its status as a Full Member of the ICC,” it said. Along with this, it also requests that instead of succumbing to external pressure or political influence, alternative solutions should be found.
