Easy win for Gujarat by 9 wickets against Rajasthan

Jaipur (Best Hindu News): Wriddhaman Saha (41 not out), Shubman Gill (36) and skipper Hardik after the deadly spin of Rashid Khan (14/3) and Noor Ahmed (25/2) bowled out Rajasthan Royals for just 118 runs. Due to the stormy batting of Pandya (39 not out, 15 balls), Gujarat Titans easily won the IPL match played here on Friday.
Rajasthan batsmen looked helpless in front of the Afghan pair of Rashid and Noor and the hosts could manage only their smallest score of this season. Later, Gujarat chased down the small target aggressively. 71 runs for the first wicket came in the tenth over itself while Pandya, coming out to bat after Shubman, mercilessly thrashed the Rajasthan bowlers and achieved the target with 37 balls to spare. Pandya hit three fours and three sixes in his stormy innings. Along with this, defending champions Gujarat are in first place with 14 points after registering seven wins in ten matches.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya gave the team the first success, returning Jos Buttler to the pavilion for eight runs in the second over. After the first blow, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson added 37 runs for the second wicket, although it was the Royals’ only significant partnership in the match.
Jaiswal was run out in the last over of the powerplay after scoring 14 runs off 11 balls with a four and a six, while Samson returned to the pavilion after scoring 30 off 20 balls with three fours and a six. The Royals were reduced to 60 for three in seven overs, though the duo of Rashid and Noor broke the back of the hosts’ batting in the middle overs.
Rashid opened his account by taking the wickets of Ravichandran Ashwin and Riyan Parag, while Noor dismissed Devdutt Padikkal (12) and Dhruv Jurel (9). Shimron Hetmyer (seven) showed composure by playing 13 balls with restraint but Rashid also walked him in his last over.
After the Royals fell for eight wickets at 96 runs, Trent Boult took the team past 100 runs, although he too could only score 15 runs off 11 balls. The Royals’ innings ended in 17.5 overs with the runout of Adam Zampa.
Shami, Hardik Pandya, and Josh Little got one wicket each.
