London : England coach Gareth Southgate has made several changes to his squad for the Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Italy and Ukraine later this month. Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been rewarded for an outstanding season, scoring 17 goals, while Chelsea full-backs Ben Chilwell and Reece James also feature in the squad after missing last year’s FIFA World Cup through injury.

There is no room for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Conor Coady, Ben White or Callum Wilson, who all featured at the World Cup, while Raheem Sterling has been ruled out with injury, said a report in Xinhua. Toney has been included despite facing charges of breaching the rules which could lead to a longer ban, but Southgate has backed the powerful striker.

Southgate said, “He is available for his club. There’s been no test or decision yet so I don’t know on what grounds I wouldn’t pick him.” Southgate took time to confirm he would stay on as England boss after the World Cup and accepted Said that his “big challenge” was to “start again”. I know where our most senior players would be with that challenge. He set the tone for the mindset that is needed.

England Team:
Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale.

Defenders: Ben Chilwell, Eric Dyer, Mark Guiche, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, James Maddison, Mason Mount, Calvin Phillips, Declan Rice.

Forwards: Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney.
