New Delhi. England’s great fast bowling all-rounder Ian Botham has credited the team’s baseball style for the return of spectators to Test cricket.
Ever since Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes were appointed as the head coach and captain of England, the team has adopted a fearless and aggressive style of playing the game of ‘baseball’.
England have won 15 of the 24 Tests played since McCullum-Stokes’ tenure began.
Although they lost the second Test in Visakhapatnam by 106 runs, their baseball approach meant that England would not give up without working hard.
England are currently tied 1-1 in the five-match Test series against India, with the third match starting on February 15 in Rajkot.
Ian Botham, who captained England for 12 Test matches, praised ‘baseball’ and suggested that other countries also consider the style.
