Meanwhile, United are on the verge of returning to the Champions League while Liverpool are almost certain to miss out on qualification for the tournament.
City and Arsenal have already qualified for the Champions League. Manchester United strengthened their claim by beating Bournemouth 1-0 while Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa. United’s team is fourth with 39 points from 36 matches, while Liverpool are fifth with 66 points from 37 matches. The top four teams in the points table will make it to the Champions League.
