Exciting polo matches to be held at ASC Center and College in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: There is good news for polo fans as they will be in for some thrilling matches of the game. Some of the best teams of the country are ready to take part in the pole game competition starting on Monday in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Addressing the reporters here, Brigadier TS Mann said that this season there will be four major tournaments in which nine teams will participate.
These will be organized by the Agram Riding and Polo Academy (ARPA). Lt Col Jaspal Singh Negi informed that Bengaluru Polo Season has been inaugurated at Agram Polo Ground and a heart touching horse riding display was organized along with mill band performance and introduction of various teams. Teams participating in the tournament include Army Service Corps, 61 Cavalry, Indian Navy, Remount Veterinary Corps, National Defense Academy, Regiment of Artillery, Hyderabad Polo and Riding Club, Army Riding and Polo Academy Team and Chennai Polo Team.
Teams will compete for prizes at the Gyan Jyoti Polo Cup (7-9 August), The Only One Challengers Polo Cup (10-13 August), Wadiyar Polo Cup (14-20 August) and the Bengaluru Champions Polo Cup (21- 27 August) . There will be an exhibition match and band display of Army Service Corps Center and College at the venue. Matches are scheduled daily at 2 pm. Entry to the tournament is free. Entry points for the public will be from gates one and five. ARPA has been synonymous with polo since 2003. At that time the Army Service Corps Center and College took up the task of promoting polo in the southern peninsula.
