Faf Du Plessis told the reason for defeat

During the post-match conversation, Faf said that there were problems in batting in the first innings and some balls were coming intermittently while chasing the target, the pitch got better. He further said that batting in the first innings was not easy and you can see that Virat Kohli also had to struggle a bit.
