First Test: India score 77/1 on the first day, still 100 runs behind Australia

After stacking Australia for 177 runs, the Indian team scored 77 runs losing one wicket in 24 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma (56) and R Ashwin (0) returned unbeaten. Todd Murphy took one wicket for Australia. In the third session, Indian openers captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul batted brilliantly. He played the Australian bowlers carefully and showed the bad balls the way to the boundary. On this pitch where on one hand the Indian bowlers were looking effective. At the same time, Australian bowlers were seen struggling to take wickets.

Meanwhile, batting brilliantly, captain Rohit continued to hit fours and sixes and completed his half-century in 66 runs. But in the 36th over, Jadeja (Labushen 49, Matt Renshaw 0) put Australia on the back foot by taking two consecutive wickets. Australia lost four wickets for 84 runs. Somehow Smith took the team’s score beyond 100. But Jadeja also bowled him for 37 runs. After this, Ashwin, using his style, bowled Carey for 36 runs to give Australia a sixth blow for 162 runs.

Australia failed to consolidate the innings as wickets kept falling, as Handscomb (31), Pat Cummins (6), Tard Murphy (0) and Scott Boland (1) also went without a performance, leaving Australia 177 in 63.5 overs.
