Former Cricket Australia president Jack Clarke passes away

Adelaide: Former cricketer and former president of Cricket Australia (CA) Jack Clarke has passed away. He was 70 years old. Clark is survived by his wife and two daughters.
According to the Australian Cricket Board, Clarke died in Adelaide. He said Clarke served on the Australian Cricket Board from 1999 to 2011 and was the CA president for the last three years of his tenure.

His tenure as chairman from 2008 to 2011 saw the launch of the Big Bash League and the reshaping of CA’s high performance arm, including a review of the Australian team following their defeat in the 2010–11 home Ashes series. He also served as a director of the South Australian Cricket Association for 21 years and was made an Honorary Life Member of SACA in 2012.

Current CA president Mike Baird expressed his condolences on Clarke’s passing, saying, “Jack Clarke made outstanding contributions to Australian, South Australian and international cricket in his leading roles with Cricket Australia and SACA and is greatly admired by all across the sporting world.” “Liked it very much.” “On behalf of Cricket Australia, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Jack’s wife Sue, his daughters Georgie and Lucy, their family and friends,” he said.
