New Delhi. Four of India’s men’s javelin throwers have qualified for the World Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary later this month in one of the country’s rare sporting events but with one injured. Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra has already qualified for the championship to be held from August 19 to 27 through a wildcard being the Diamond League champion. Kishore Jena has also secured a world ranking quota.

Rohit Yadav and DP Manu also made it to the list of 36 javelin throwers in the World Championship. But Rohit has recently undergone surgery on his ‘throwing’ arm and will not be able to play in the World Championship. A country can field three athletes in each event, but this number can be increased if a wild card is made.
