What is HSN 874 category?

Let us tell you that in the HSN 8741 category, ultra small form factor computers and servers come. These products used to be easy to source but they are now restricted to import into India.

The Government of India took this decision because most of the laptops and personal computers sold in India are manufactured or assembled in China. At the same time, with this new rule, the government is hoping to shift some of these manufacturing and assembling to India. A directive on the import ban of laptops was issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

At the same time, it was said in the notice that the import of laptops, tablets, all in one personal computers and ultra small form factor computers and servers falling under HSN 8741 would be prohibited. And the import will be allowed against a valid license for restricted import.

Increase in prices due to ban
