New Delhi, March 31 (Hindustan Reporter) Indian hockey team midfielder Hardik Singh and women’s hockey team midfielder Salima Tete have received the ‘Player of the Year 2023’ award in the men’s and women’s categories respectively. For this he has been honored with the Hockey India Balbir Singh Senior Award. With this he was awarded a trophy and an amount of Rs 25 lakh.
Hockey India’s sixth annual awards 2023 ceremony was held in New Delhi on Sunday. India’s best hockey stars, officials and legends of the game were honored at the ceremony. Inaugurating the ceremony, Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh welcomed the guests, dignitaries and hockey stars.
He said that I congratulate all the players, officials and support staff for their unmatched strength, determination and constant pursuit of excellence, which has taken Indian hockey to new heights. I congratulate all the nominees and winners for their invaluable contributions.

Lifetime Achievement Award to former veteran Ashok Kumar
On behalf of Hockey India, former veteran player Ashok Kumar was honored with the prestigious Hockey India Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award for his achievements. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 30 lakh and a trophy.
