New Delhi: If you have the courage to do something, then even when the circumstances are difficult, the path automatically emerges. Aamir Hussain of Jammu and Kashmir is an example of this. When Aamir was 8 years old, he lost both his hands while working in his father’s mill. But, the passion for cricket was so much that despite losing both hands, he did not give up the game. A teacher noticed him and Aamir’s cricket career took off and today he is the captain of Jammu and Kashmir’s para cricket team.
Aamir Hussain was quoted by ANI as saying, “After the accident, I did not lose hope and kept working hard. I can do everything on my own and don’t depend on anyone. No one helped me after my accident. Even the government did not support me, but my family was always there for me.”
Very difficult to bowl with foot: Aamir
34-year-old Aamir has mastered the unique art of bowling with his feet and batting by holding the bat between the neck and shoulder. He said that my game was appreciated everywhere and thank God that my hard work paid off because bowling with the feet is really difficult, but I have learned all the skills and techniques. I do everything on my own and I don’t depend on anyone except God.
Sachin Tendulkar and Ashish Nehra have in the past praised Aamir for his strong courage and determination.
