New Delhi. Indian hockey chief coach Craig Fulton believes that having the services of Paddy Upton will help his players deal with the pressure in the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy and Hangzhou Asian Games. Hockey India recently signed up mental conditioning specialist Paddy Upton, who was part of the Indian cricket team that won the 2011 ODI World Cup. Fulton said in a release issued by Hockey India, “The players who are mentally strong in the game are generally: most persistent and win more than they lose. ,
He said, “If you consistently do the right things compared to the opposition team, you will usually get a result or you will get close to getting a result.” That’s why this was the main reason for Paddy Upton to be added to the team. The Indian team will play in the Asian Champions Trophy starting August 3 in Chennai followed by the Hangzhou Asian Games through which the Indian team will try to qualify directly for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The team will face tough competition in both these tournaments.
