High Court bans interrogation of ED officers

Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court has banned the interrogation of ED officers by the police. The court has stayed the notice issued by the police under Section 41A of CrPC in view of the intervention petition filed by ED. Also, an order has been given to continue the ban already imposed on coercive action against ED officials. In the intervention petition filed by ED, it was said that the accused in the FIR (6/24) registered by the court in SC-ST police station There was a ban on coercive action against the appointed ED officers. Despite this, the police has issued a notice under Section 41A of CrPC for the interrogation of ED officers. Under Section 41A, there is a provision to give notice before arresting a person. The police have mentioned the details of the land located in Badagain in the notice issued to the ED officers. Hemant Soren has been arrested by the Directorate after investigating the case of land located in Badagain.
ED and pollution board filed affidavit in Rajmahal mountain case
Hearing was held in NGT Eastern Zone Kolkata on the petition filed for complete closure of illegally operated stone mines and crushers in Rajmahal hills. This petition has been filed by social worker Syed Arshad Nasar. On Thursday, a counter affidavit was filed by ED and Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board. The next hearing will be on May 13.
