Hitman said that India can win the WTC final said this on retirement

New Delhi . India captain Rohit Sharma said that he has not thought about retirement yet. After missing out on the chance to win the World Cup title on home soil, Rohit is hopeful that India will play in the World Test Championship final in 2025. Rohit, 36, was a member of India’s 2007 Men’s T20 World Cup win in South Africa and the 2013 Champions Trophy win in England.

He and India were on the verge of winning the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup title on home soil, but defeat to Australia in the final in Ahmedabad ended those hopes. This was the same year when India also lost the WTC 2023 final against Australia at The Oval in London.

Rohit said in an episode of ‘Breakfast with Champions’ that I have not really thought about retirement. But, I don’t know where life takes you. I’m playing well at the moment too – so I think I’ll keep it going. A few more years and then, I don’t know I really want to win that World Cup and there will be a World Test Championship final at Lord’s in 2025, hopefully India will be successful in that.

Talking about the sadness of the World Cup final, where India’s ten-match winning streak ended badly. Rohit said that for me the 50 over World Cup is the real World Cup. We have grown up watching that 50-over World Cup. More importantly, it was happening in front of our home audience in India. We played very well until that final, I thought, okay now we are one step away from doing all the things right.

What is the thing due to which we can lose the World Cup? To be honest, not a single thing came to my mind because I felt we had ticked all the boxes, we were playing good cricket.

We all thought one day would be bad and I think it was our bad day. To be honest, I didn’t think we played bad cricket in that final, some things just didn’t go our way. But Australia were much better that day.
