Hockey India announces 28 probable names for men’s national camp

New Delhi . Hockey India on Monday announced a 28-member core probable group for the senior men’s national coaching camp, to be held at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar from March 12 to March 30.
This camp is very important for the Indian hockey team as they will aim to strengthen their preparations before the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The team returns to the camp after a successful performance in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023-24, where they are currently placed third after scoring 15 points from 8 matches in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
The league will resume in Antwerp, Belgium on May 22, 2024, before moving to London on June 1 and then the Netherlands for the final stage of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023-24.
Goalkeepers Krishna Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera and defenders Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit and Amir Ali are included in the national coaching camp.
Midfielders called to the camp include Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Rabichandra Singh, Shamsher Singh, Neelkanth Sharma, Rajkumar Pal, Vishnukant Singh. While the list of forwards includes Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Abhishek, Dilpreet Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Gurjant Singh, Mohammad Rahil Mohsin, Bobby Singh Dhami and Arijit Singh Hundal.
India head coach Craig Fulton said on the importance of the upcoming camp, “We want to start an important block of training in this camp, and we need to make sure that we are at our best before we go to Australia for the big match series. Be in position.
“The players selected for the camp will be contenders to play important upcoming games. Therefore, we have selected a group of experienced players as well as some youngsters who also played in the Pro League.
