Hockey India has started a program to organize regular coaching camps and inter-district competitions to all the districts of the country. Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey said, “We have recently deputed four officials each in each of the four zones (North, South, East and West) to inform our state and district units that these tournaments will be held.” And hosting coaching camps is necessary not only to develop the game but also to create a strong sporting culture. He said, “Such tournaments promote active participation in sports along with giving recognition to the players.” Hockey sticks and balls will also be distributed in different states under the program.
