Shamsher Singh opened account
The first quarter of the match between India and Wales was goalless. Both the teams fought each other but in the 21st minute of the second quarter, Shamsher Singh opened the account for Team India by scoring a goal. In this way, till half-time, India maintained a 1-0 lead in the match, but in the second half, Akashdeep took the lead and scored a thunderous field goal to put India ahead 2-0.
After trailing 2–0 in the match, the Wales team found a new energy and in no time, he scored two goals in the third quarter to level the score at 2–2. However, Akashdeep scored another brilliant field goal in the 45th minute of the match. In this way the score is now 3-2.
The third quarter was over and the last 15 minutes had begun. The Indian players were constantly trying not to break through the Wales defence, but a few minutes before the final hooter, Team India earned a penalty corner.
Surprisingly, India’s penalty corner saw Wells standing without a goalkeeper in front of him. Where was the Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh going to miss the opportunity in such a situation? The Wales defense had no answer to Harmanpreet’s drag flick. As soon as the ball hit the goal post, India’s victory was almost confirmed by 4-2. Because before Wales could respond further, the referee declared the match over by saving the final hooker.
