Visakhapatnam Rishabh Pant, returning after a long break, played an inning of 51 runs in 32 balls against CSK. Also, under his captaincy, Delhi Capitals defeated defending champion CSK by 20 runs and registered their first win of the season. Sunday’s match in Visakhapatnam was Pant’s third match in competitive cricket after recovering from a near-fatal car accident in December 2022. Promoting himself to number three, Pant was on 23 off 23 balls. He was seen struggling for big short, but from here he batted aggressively in the next 8 balls and also completed his half-century.

After this innings and the victory in the match, captain Rishabh Pant said that he always had the confidence to make a comeback. He had made up his mind that no matter what happens, he has to return to the cricket field. Pant said about his comeback in the post-match presentation, ‘As a cricketer, I don’t think that I am making a comeback, I have to give my 100 percent every day. So I took my time in the beginning because I haven’t played cricket in the last one and a half or two years. However, at the same time, I was also thinking that I could change the course of the match in the end.

Pant said on his experience of being away from cricket for a long time, ‘Yes it was a long wait but sometimes you have to do what you can as a cricketer and you have to learn from these experiences. I had this strong belief that no matter what happens in life, I have to return to the field.
