It has been exciting for cricket to return from Kabul to Pakistan and back to Afghanistan. Growing up, Naveen became a big fan of Indian cricket. According to Naveen, ‘I used to watch every match of India. This is where my love and passion for cricket started. Parents used to give permission to play cricket outside the house for a few hours only on weekends. I used to be a wicket-keeper batsman then. I used to hate bowling. I loved batting in tape ball cricket. There used to be a lot of fights with my elder during the match.

In an old interview, he had said on his habit of quarreling, ‘People say that I am not like this outside the field. I smile I joke with my friends. I am not that serious, but one has to be a little serious on the field, whether playing franchise cricket or representing my country… If someone tells me something, I will not hold back.
