Ranchi. England captain Ben Stokes said about the pitch prepared for the fourth Test cricket match against India that he had never seen a pitch like this before. India is currently leading 2-1 in the five-match series. The fourth test match will be played here from Friday. However, before the match, there is discussion about the pitch which has cracks. According to ESPN Cricinfo, Stokes said, “It looks interesting. I don’t know about this type of pitch so can’t say much. I have never seen a pitch like this before so I have no idea. I don’t know how it will behave.”
He said, “When viewed from the dressing room it looks like grass but when you get closer it looks completely different. There are some cracks visible in it.” Due to the nature of the pitch, England were also late in announcing their final eleven. Fast bowler Ollie Robinson is sure to be included in the team in place of Mark Wood, but it has not been decided yet whether to keep a fourth spinner in the form of Shoaib Bashir or an additional batsman in the form of Dan Lawrence. Lawrence is also a useful off spinner.
Stokes said, “Rombison has incredible skills which would make him a successful bowler anywhere in the world. In England we saw that he is a very skilled bowler but in Pakistan we saw much more than that in him. It is believed that Stokes can bowl in the fourth Test match. Regarding this, the all-rounder said, “My knee is in a better condition for bowling.” It’s nice to break that 20 minute barrier which I’m still working on. It’s a bit harsh but we’ll just wait.
