Gill scored 208 off 149 balls
Shubman Gill, 23, scored three scores of more than 100 in January and added 567 runs during this period. He scored a double century in the first match of the series against New Zealand in Hyderabad. He scored 208 runs in just 149 balls with the help of 28 boundaries and during this time became the youngest player to score a double century in ODI format. Apart from this, he also scored 116 against Sri Lanka and 112 against New Zealand in the last ODI.
Gill overtook Conway and Siraj
Gill beat New Zealand opener Devon Conway and compatriot Mohammad Siraj in the global poll to win the ICC Player of the Month award for the first time. England Under-19 captain Grace Scrivens leads in women’s category
Grace won this women’s category award for her brilliant performance in the first Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Under his leadership, the team made it to the finals where they had to face defeat against defending champions India. Nineteen-year-old Grace scored 293 runs in seven innings at an average of 41.85 including three consecutive half-centuries against Rwanda, Ireland and the West Indies. He also did wonders in bowling, taking nine wickets at an average of 7.11. Grace beat Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield and Beth Mooney in the race for this award.
