‘ICC is giving a different ball to Team India’, Aakash Chopra gave a befitting reply to this allegation of former Pakistani star.

former batsman of pakistan Hasan Raza ICC has urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to investigate the balls being used by Indian bowlers in the ongoing Cricket World Cup. India made it to the semi-finals by defeating Sri Lanka by 302 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After scoring a huge score of 357, India bowled out Sri Lanka for a paltry score of 55. Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami took his second five-wicket haul of the tournament, while Mohammed Siraj broke the back of Sri Lanka’s top order by taking three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah took a wicket on the first ball of the innings.
Shami, Siraj and Bumrah’s enthusiasm
India’s frontline fast bowling trio, Jasprit Bumrah (15), Mohammed Shami (14) and Mohammed Siraj (9) have shared 38 wickets in seven matches. Raza feels that many close DRS calls have gone in India’s favour. He also suggested that facing Shami and Siraj is like facing some of the greatest fast bowlers of our time. But he also made a big allegation.
Hasan Raza gave a strange statement
During a discussion on ABN News, Hasan Raza said that it is difficult to understand. When India is batting, they are playing well. But when India is bowling, other teams are struggling. Some decisions of DRS have gone in favor of India. About 7-8 DRS calls have been very close and all have gone in his favour. But today we saw a different level of aggression from the Indian bowlers. When Shami and Siraj are bowling, it feels like we are playing against Allan Dowland and Makhaya Ntini in the old days.
Raza is accused of match fixing
Raza, who once faced allegations of match fixing after being caught on video in an Al Jazeera sting operation, feels that the ICC or BCCI is only providing some special balls to the Indian bowlers, due to which the players are getting extra swing in batting. He said, ‘It seems that the ball is changed in the second innings. I think ICC, umpires or BCCI are giving a different ball to the Indian bowlers. The team batting first scored 350 runs and the team chasing the target was completely disintegrated. The way Mohammed Shami bowled his first ball, even Angelo Mathews was stunned. During our playing days, there was only one ball that was used, and it had both swing and reverse swing.’
Raza wants to get the ball checked
Raza said, ‘I think the balls should be tested. I know there are two new balls for the bowlers to bowl from each end, but he has taken three slips in the ODI. Even KL Rahul was struggling to catch the ball behind the stumps. The balls appear to have an additional coating of lacquer. I think opposition teams should inspect the balls.
Aakash Chopra gave a befitting reply
After this allegation by Raza, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra fiercely targeted him and during the discussion termed his actions as ‘comedy’. India is on top of the points table in the World Cup with seven wins. Team India has become the first team to make it to the semi-finals of the World Cup.
