Igor Chiselyov helps Maharashtra Ironmen beat proud Gujarat in thrilling encounter

Jaipur. The first game of Match Day 7 of the first season of Premier Handball League between Maharashtra Ironmen and Proud Gujarat ended 35-30 in favor of Ironmen. Ironmen captain Igor Chiselyev displayed his immense power in the match to lead his team to victory.

Table toppers Maharashtra Ironmen take on proud Gujarat in match 13 of the inaugural season of the Premier Handball League. Proud Gujarat started the match on a brisk note. Tarun Thakur, Mohit Ghanghas and Tuliboev Mukhtar were seen scoring well in the opening minutes. Farhad Shafie Alavijeh was also in form at the goal post for proud Gujarat. He made some amazing saves in the opening minutes of the game to help his team take the lead.

Igor Chiselyov, Aman and Jalal Kiyani, however, began a round of string passages together to slowly build chances for the Ironmen. All of them also found their finishing touch and soon equalized for their team. Till the 15th minute, both the teams were tied at 9-9. Proud Gujarat’s Mohammad Shuja Ur Rahman came off the bench to add to their attack. As soon as they arrived, proud Gujarat established a small lead over the Ironmen. As the first half was coming to a close, both the teams were trying to strike each other. By the end of the first half, the score was 17-16 in favor of Gujarat.

Maharashtra Ironmen started the second half with a bang thanks to their skipper Igor Chiseliov. Captain was playing brilliantly. He was constantly threatening the Gujarat players and was leading the scoring spree. The Ironmen took the lead early in the second half. The Gujarat team, however, were looking for a way to get back into the match and in this endeavor they began to put the brakes on Chiselyov. The Ironmen, however, could not establish an unassailable lead against Gujarat thanks to excellent efforts from Shuja Ur Rahman and Tuliboev Mukhtar. The Gujarat team, however, struggled to bridge the score gap.

By the middle of the second half, the score was 27–25 in favor of the Ironmen. Kiyani also came to the fore in the second half with a point and proved that he and Chiseliov could tear apart the Gujarat defence. The proud Gujarat slowly managed to gain a foothold in the second half but their efforts went in vain as the free scoring Ironmen showed their prowess in the attack and Gujarat could not touch them and the match went 35-30 to the Ironmen. in over.

Igor Chiselyov and Jalal Kiyani were the top scorers for Maharashtra Ironmen with 10 goals each. Proud Gujarat’s Mohit Ghanghas was the top scorer for his team in the match with 10 goals. Proud Gujarat goalkeeper Farhad Shafie Alavijeh was adjudged the player of the match.

Final Score- Maharashtra Ironman-35, Proud Gujarat- 30
