On whether batsmen are not able to dominate against spinners, Ganguly said, ‘I don’t think so. These are very tough wickets. I saw in the first two Tests and it is not easy. Playing Ashwin, Jadeja, Lyon and newcomer Todd Murphy, it is never going to be easy as some balls turn a lot. There is uneven bounce here, the spinners are getting a lot of help.

India won the first two Tests in a total of five days and Ganguly is not fazed by it. He said, ‘India is a different team in its own country. “The problem is we keep comparing this Australian team with teams of the past and it is not the same. You don’t have Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Steve and Mark Waugh, (Adam) Gilchrist. You don’t have players of that level. Ganguly said, ‘Steve Smith is a great player. (David) Warner hasn’t found his rhythm, (Marnus) Labushen is a good player but these are tough conditions for him too. The former Indian captain said, ‘The mistake we make with Australian teams is that we think they are Steve Waugh’s Australian team but they are not. Different players have different tests in different situations.
