Team India coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma are looking for a way to find the best combination for the fourth and final Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After the defeat in the third Test, Team India now needs a win in the upcoming Test to secure their place in the final of the World Test Championship.
According to a report in PTI, the management is planning to bring back Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami for the fourth Test in order to create an effective bowling unit for the Ahmedabad Test. Shami, who has been the most successful fast bowler in this series claiming 7 wickets in a total of 30 overs, will be crucial in Ahmedabad as the pitch is expected to favor reverse swing.
Reports say- Mohammad Siraj who has taken 3 wickets in the series so far and hasn’t been very promising, might not play in the fourth Test as Umesh Yadav will share the new ball with Shami after his good show in Indore. However, Siraj is part of the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia, starting March 17.
India currently leads Australia 2-1 in the four-match Test series and will look to continue their winning streak at home. However, Australia who have already reached the final of the WTC will look to continue their Test-winning form in the fourth Test starting March 9 (Thursday) to draw the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
