Australia registered an emphatic nine-wicket win over India. Finished the third Test in just two and a half days and secured their place in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC).
Needing 76 runs to win, Australian batsmen Travis Head (49) and Marnus Labuschagne (28) held on to an early onslaught of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as the visitors pulled off an emphatic win at the Holkar Stadium.
The hosts were bowled out for 163 in their second innings, leaving Australia needing just 76 runs to secure a hugely satisfying victory after being trounced in the first two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Along with the series, India will need to win the final Test in Ahmedabad on March 9 if they are to book a place in the World Test Championship final in June.
