Rohit Sharma (48 runs on 40 balls) and Shubman Gill (53 runs on 55 balls) gave a good start to India by adding 88 runs for the first wicket. After this Kohli’s bat came into play and he scored unbeaten 103 runs on 97 balls which included six fours and four sixes.
He added 83 runs for the fourth wicket with KL Rahul (34 not out) and took India’s score to 261 runs for three wickets in 41.3 overs. Batting first, Bangladesh could only score 256 runs for eight wickets despite a good start.
For Bangladesh, Liton Das contributed 66 runs, his opening partner Tanjid Hasan contributed 51 runs and Mahmudullah contributed 46 runs.
