Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on 28 December 2001 in Suria, Uttar Pradesh to Kanchan Jaiswal, a housewife, and Bhupendra Jaiswal, a small hardware store owner.
Yashasvi Jaiswal comes fourth among six siblings. Jaiswal left his family and friends at the age of 11 and moved to Mumbai and started playing cricket.
Jaiswal lived in a tent for three years and did odd jobs along with playing cricket. There were days when he would sleep hungry and sell Panipuri to earn a living.
Yashasvi Jaiswal first came into limelight in 2015 when he registered his name in the Limca Book of Records by scoring unbeaten 319 runs in a Giles Shield match. After this Jaiswal did not look back.
Yashasvi Jaiswal made his List A cricket debut for Mumbai in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. At the age of 17, he became the youngest player to score a double century in List A cricket by scoring 203 runs in 154 balls against Jharkhand. Jaiswal’s incredible batting performance earned him a place in the Under-19 national cricket team.
Jaiswal made his Indian Premier League debut in 2020 for Rajasthan Royals, who bought him for Rs 2.40 crore. He scored his first century against Mumbai Indians in 2023, but RR lost the match.
Jaiswal created history again on May 11, 2023, when he broke the record of the fastest IPL half-century. Playing against Kolkata Knight Riders, he completed his half-century in just 13 balls.
